I endeavour to maintain a clutter free, simple reading environment that takes just a few minutes to read a complete story. This blog is free for all. One way you could 'repay' me if you like the story you have read is to refer others to this blog and the specific story. I would appreciate that kind of word-of-mouth (or its modern equivalent - email, link, Facebook posting) advertising, since it is the best kind. Kindly do to the extent you can without feeling uncomfortable or like a spammer.

Thanks for visiting and hope you enjoy reading!

Damsel In Distress

A damsel in distress I met one day
Dishevelled, upon the ground she lay
In a plaintive voice I heard her say
"Sir, I've been through a lot and it was hell.
I'll spare you the details and I won't tell."

I helped her up, felt it was my duty
I held her close, she was a beauty
I built her up and gave her my heart
Put her on a pedestal right from the start
Soon I could not imagine us ever being apart

I would do anything to see her smile
I gave her a yard and she took a mile
To figure her out it took me a while
Then from off the pedestal I set her on the ground
There she was back just as she had been found

I was sorry it all had to end this way
I turned around and as I quietly walked away
To someone I heard her plaintively say
"Sir, I've been through a lot and it was hell.
I'll spare you the details and I won't tell."
