Are You Patriotic?

 Ways of demonstrating patriotism in these times.

1) Serve in the armed forces, put your life on the line. Would you be willing and able to fight and die for your nation? 

2) Make an extraordinary contribution in an useful area of science or technology that can be developed in your country. Are you capable and willing to do something like this? 

3) Contribute to making your nation more independent in day-to-day consumables from cups, plates, toothbrushes to medicines and clothes - just mindlessly calling for boycott of imported items is not enough. You actually work to make an affordable alternative, which means, there needs to be less cost of Labor. 

- Would you be willing to work for less wages than the current standard? 

4)Would you be willing to work long hours, over many years to make things and earn less profit as a business than you could, just so you can make it more affordable for more of your fellow citizens? 

5) As a citizen be willing to do any job available in the country, rather than just take unemployment benefits - no matter how unattractive the job is, getting paid what we're willing to pay foreign workers for it? — From fruit picking, fishing or cleaning?

6) Follow the laws of your country, work with the government cooperatively, respectfully, express any dissent peacefully without causing damage to your society? 

These are some of the practical ways of demonstrating patriotism. The measure of how many in society are willing to do any of the above is really a measure of the strength of the nation. When you look at another nation that you want to compete with or compare look them in these above 6 areas. 

Post which of the above you are able/willing to do to demonstrate your patriotism, along with your comments. 

I will put myself down for 3), 4) and 6). If it came to it, I would do 5) too.
