I endeavour to maintain a clutter free, simple reading environment that takes just a few minutes to read a complete story. This blog is free for all. One way you could 'repay' me if you like the story you have read is to refer others to this blog and the specific story. I would appreciate that kind of word-of-mouth (or its modern equivalent - email, link, Facebook posting) advertising, since it is the best kind. Kindly do to the extent you can without feeling uncomfortable or like a spammer.

Troubled times ahead??

It seems that in the areas of social harmony, economic prosperity, competitiveness of the workforce and political climate, the USA is really not the best in the world. Despite being wealthy, there is extreme disparity, mutual antipathy between large sections of society, the highly skilled and productive working people counterbalanced and weighed down by large numbers of unemployed, under-employed and those on welfare. There seems a great need to import more productive workers from abroad even as larger growing numbers of those already there are losing their jobs!

In the above areas the USA is not only behind other societies, notably China, but it is trending in the wrong direction as compared to others, notably China again!

The only area in which the USA is still ahead of the rest of the world, including China, is in the area of military strength.

Now, this is the troubling part. As they say, "When all you have is a hammer, all problems look like nails".

So, will all problems appear as "security" issues to the USA in the foreseeable future?

Troubled times ahead!
